I liked the sound of that particular Phil X rosewood neck Strat, but I could never buy anything like it.  This one looks awful to me, and I don't like the rosewood Tele either.

Plus I bet it weighs a TON!

Agreed about the weight, but do you not even like the look of the rosewood necks?

I think if Warmoth ever had a one-piece rosewood VM Tele neck (in the right shape) I'd be extremely tempted to snap it up (they have loads right now, but they're all Standard Thin  :x ).

BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

1 Piece rosewood VM tele neck in '59 Roundback? they have (not in showcase, custom order :P)

It's just Strats in general.  I can't stand them, as I've stated before.  I even started a thread about it a while back

Really?  I'd completely forgotten.

But seriously, I only asked because you said you didn't like the look of the Tele either.

 Yeah yeah yeah, I know  :P

..... but I'm fussy, and I'd want a nice straight-grained piece.  It's too expensive to just buy blind.

It's that "whole rosewood" look - I just don't like it!

The cheapest all rosewood neck on showcase is $337, the same price as the initial 1 piece rosewood from custom order (+35 if '59 Roundback)...
But the fussy I understand because I'm also... But lets say that Indian Rosewood will be plain look 90% of time at least, I'd be more worried if it was Brazilian...

He's in denial lads.

Jacarandá for Fernando

Sounds like a classic case of Denial of GAS attack to me... Dave is just trying to throw us of the trail as he swoops in with a last minute bid...

On the other hand - I am sensing that Roo & Tele = Roobaiting is rapidly being replaced by Twinfan & Strat = Dave-baiting....

Yeah, Indian is fairly plain but the grain can still be nicely straight or just a bit too wonky:

I wouldn't even consider Brazilian, this costs $995(!!!) but it's bloody ugly (I don't think Warmoth will export the Brazilian anyway):

Jacarandá for Fernando

Yes!
and Brazilian Rosewood is "Jacarandá da Bahia" (da is from and Bahia is a state in Brazil), where the portuguese first arrived in BR. Rosewood used to grow in the coast not on Amazonia...

Yeah Philly, I know your problem with the look TOO well :(

I actually like that very much :) Needs to be mated with a suitable body of course. J'Lo ass and a flat bust don't  mix.
