Tightening a wah
« on: November 03, 2009, 01:08:58 PM »
I have a Dunlop Cry Baby wah which has lived a long and prospepous life. It has become quite "weak" (best word I could tink of) and can't uphold itself in a middle position. It always falls down to the bottom.

Is there any way to tighten a wha pedal and cure this problem?

Yes - take the back off
Inside you will see where the  rack part of the rack and pinion assembly that moves the pot as the wah treadle is moved.
This is held in place with a plastic cable clup which is screwed to the chassis
Unscrew the clip a little and push it harder against the rack and retighten
This should increase the friction and sop the wah being too mobile
