Philly, i do indeed like my MIII's! :) and they kinda relate to this thread, since they're a sort of Gibson/Fender hybrid. like Twinfan, i've found myself moving away from humbuckers and shorter scales to fender type guitars. and of course i have his classic vibe esquire! it sounds great through a Marshall, can go from agressive to sweet with a change of pick attack. but then i got my 1970 Les Paul, and i'm falling back in love with that sound again.
i think the fendery clarity and attack is a more involved sound, if that makes sense, it has more personality and of course it suits lower gain tones. but the girth and thump of a good humbucker is necessary now and again! it's already been said here, in a two guitar band one of each is a great combination.
