Which is better, Meat Channel or Heat Channel (VHII content)?

did two versions of this one on the Steavens, once on the Meat Channel (Ch3) with Gain up 2/3, one on the Heat Channel (Ch4) with Gain at 13:00, EQ and boosts are identical.

Guitar is the Edwards LP with VHIIs in it.

Which do you prefer?

Er, meat for me I think, but there's nothing in it really.

Couldn't you have made one of them sound rubbish to make the choice easier?
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Yeah I'd be very happy with either and couldn't really choose.

Can't hear clips at work, I'll vote and comment properly later, mebbe over the weekend - but when I saw the title, I was thinking, "Actually, for me, I was rather fond of the Crunch channel..."

From the earlier demos, Meat had it for me, but I'd have taken either :D

To be honest, if there is just a minute where I don't think I have to play fast and be bad, I do enjoy the Crunch channel the most. It's the most open of the three drive channels and has a lot of what I had in the Shiva, but none of its drawbacks.

Bernhard should build a single channel 15W amp based on Crunch, together with the 3 switchable boosts it would be an awesome piece of kit!

Heat sounds more alive and angry to me, so I like that one.

The Meat was better on the main riff, but the heat was better for the arpeggios etc

Based on your demos the other week, I'd start getting interested ... but HEY!! I'm not meant to be gassing for amps. I'm not playing live, even 15W would be too loud... aghh....

I knew this would happen... missus wanted chrimbo pressie ideas... I've been seduced by a Vox AC4TV... we decided I could go and play guitar in the bedroom or anywhere without having to turn on the studio next to the TV when she's trying to watch Spooks or something... I've only played it for 30mins in the shop... now it's boxed up in the spare room, waiting for Santa to "deliver it" to me...

... and now I'm paying close attention to the hunter tone quest, and getting excited by his amp tones - I knew I'd get sucked into this stuff if I ever gave in and took to "real" amps again

I can always make you a good price for the Triamp, it also has a half-power switch, for "bedroom playing" :O)

Nah... I've seen it there... I think I'll pass...

Let's at least get into the New Year, by which time I'll have had a good week or two on my "vintage AC30 running at full blast but you can stand by it without going blind" tones

Never mind, I spoke to Bernhard (Steavens) the other day, and he said the UK weren't really his market. In fact he sold 2 amps to the UK in 20 years, which makes an average of 1 per decade. He is selling far more to the US, obviously DE and BeNeLux.

So it won't really hurt if you'd stick to your baby vox :O)
