Thanks, I shall check out tdpri later on!  :D

(Can't believe I've never registered on that forum - I suppose there's so much info on there, any question I could think of has already been answered...)

I've posted on there a few times - generally helpful but strictly all business in my experience. They can get quite eggy if you go off topic for too long.

I usually dislike relic's but those look pretty nicely done, liked aged guitars that seemed to have been taken care of instead of "relics" that look they've been dragged through a sawmill.

I think they look like they've been buried in a peat bog for 100 years.  Not that that's a bad thing.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Hi Twinfan, what's that Martamp you got there? That's the first I've seen that's not Marshall or Vox- based.

Cute looking guitars. When I was reading earlier at work I couldn't see the pics posted. I just didn't "get" Shobet's "hide the credit card" - it's fairly obvious I spose, but it didn't have context without the pic.

Then when I saw it just now... exactly the same emotions sir!

I think I kinda like that peat bog look...

I've got a Martamp that is not marshall/vox based. Will put some pics up when I get a bit of time. The one I have was owned by Dave (Twinfan).

None of my amps are Vox-based.

There's plenty of cosmetic variation on my website, see the gallery. Electronically, there's plenty going on too, no Vox though!

Hi Martin, I guess I was just thinking el84= Vox, shows how much I know!
I was attracted to Twinfan's amp 'cause it looks kind of Fendery, am I wrong again?

No you're right, in this case TF's amp is a Relic'd Fender Deluxe type amp, using 6L6's for a bit more power, plus some other tweaks.

Ian's is a standard 5E3 Deluxe, with Power Scaling. Horsehead has a 5F6 Bassman head, and all 3 of these are Tweed covered. Just to throw a googly in, there's currently a JTM45 replica and 2x12 I did for sale in Johnny Roadhouse, also in Tweed!

The EL84 amps I do are variations on the Watkins Dominator/ Marshall1974 design, which doesn't sound  Vox-like. There are some I've done which are tweaked in a Voxy manner! :)

Well, I thought that was ok but I loved the 'tele twang fest' one he does. Brilliant sounding amp and guitar ( which just happens to be the red sparkle CS, bringing us neatly back on-topic). Great post-wine playing too.

Hmm, I think I'm going to have to give Martin a bell.

How could I forget about the twangfest! Very good indeed.

Ha ha - thanks guys!  I listen back to those and spot all the bloopers and wish I was a bit more 'precise' when recording stuff!

Nice sounding amp that Deluxe - I loved it  :D

Not too precise though Dave - the beauty of my favourite music is in the imperfections. And I love that amp (present tense!). I am having a bit of tele GAS due to this thread. I think a tele is my next logical guitar related purchase so I'll be watching this one develop with interest.

I guess you're looking for a reasonably priced one then?

Roadworn may well be the way to go, but get a blonde one - you know it makes sense  ;)
