Sounds like a little mishap Philly. Nothing a bit of good neighborly relations shouldn't sort out. Thank your lucky stars they're not the Marxist Tuppence Licking Electricity Abstracting Lesbian Neighbors From Hell I had 18 months ago!!

No, they're nothing like your rug-munching, lecky-robbing friends Johnny.

So long as the bloke fixes the leak I'll be happy.  There's a new little crack in my kitchen ceiling, but I couldn't give a toss about that, my place is such a shitehole anyway (anyone remember Mr Trebus?)

My best advice to avoid neighbour trouble is: Buy a house  (I live in a flat myself, but sometimes wish I owned a house)

The neighbours can still be annoying, but at least their washing machines won't cause you trouble.

I'd love to buy a house, but right now I've got 20 years' clutter crammed into a one bedroom flat.  And the bathroom needs doing, the kitchen needs doing, the windows need doing..... it would be an absolute nightmare to sort out.  I can't motivate myself to do it, or to spend all that money.

I'm a world champion procrastinator.  Never, ever jump whilst you can just do nothing and wait for someone else to push you.

So what I'm hearing is: You're just waiting for the BKP forum folks to chip in and buy you a house. Right?  :D

No, would I do that?

I'm waiting for them to chip in and sort out my windows, kitchen and bathroom.

many years ago, still at my parents' house, we had a leak from a pipe upstairs... A LOT of water, to be honest. well, some day later the bathroom ceiling went down. a piece of rock actually broke the WC in two halves. the same damn WC i was sitting on 10 minutes before! after that, until someone came to fix things up, we had a sort of a Brazil (Gilliam's movie, nothing to do with Fernando) effect, we could look in the flat upstairs through a 2 meters hole!

so don't overlook cracks in the ceiling. ever.
