The arrogance of looking for (and expecting) the crowd appreciation was quite grating to me. He also played about 6-7 tracks before speaking to the audience, or thanking them for the applause (which I think he did once, maybe twice, throughout the whole evening).
Odd that. When I saw him in Cardiff earlier this year, he thanked the audience for coming out (it was a wet, cr@ppy night) after the first song, and thanked for applause after almost every song. Did the same when I saw him in Frome in Feb 2008. Like Mr 38th said, I hope he's not letting the success go to his head.
