Nailbomb with Ceramic magnet...
« on: November 14, 2005, 10:55:17 PM »
I'm gessing it'd sound like a MM on steroids, but slightly less tight, with maybe more output? Has anyone ever tried this? Would it get too mushy because of the output, or would it just lose a little articulation?

It would have a tighter bass and alot smoother mids, It would be a different beast to the Miracle Man.

Wow... Could work out then I guess. Actually since it'd have more power, I'm quite interested. How much is the upcharge for a magnet change, if I may ask on here?

We dont really make one off custom made pickups, Tim has tried most things and if it sounds good it becomes a product line. What kind of thing do you have in mind?

From what you have experianced with the Miracle man, I dont think ceramic magnets are your thing, they tend to scoop the mids out of the tone.
I think a normal nailbomb would be fine.

I'd stick with the BKP product line - Tim knows his stuff and gigs it all too. I've got Tim to make me some weird  stuff, and usually it sounded pants. There's more to it than swapping magnets around

Hails man
well.. what i have in mind IS :

iŽll put between ( ) the eqwise .. cause i donŽt want a lot of bass, and a lot of tightness like 7BASS, AND ULTRA TIGHT. ahahaha i just want the right ammount of bass tokeep things heavy.

fLOYD ROSE Spaced.
open coils( no cover)

The tightiest bass possible.(like 5)
lots of crunchy mids(like 8 )
Tight/warm  Highs(like 8)

VERY Articulated sound/tone with lots of distortion.(donŽt need too much clean sound. but a Regular clean sound would be good. Who knows when iŽll start playing clean? ehehehhe)

Moderated/high output. like 18/19k

for use IN THE BRIDGE IN a  downtuned guitar( iŽll tune it in C )
it will go on a mahogany body ,mahogany neck thru . 24 small/medium frets.custom body shape.
brazilian rosewood fretboard.
baritone scale.
Floyd rose .

No matter what kind of magnet, as long as it does what i describe.

So..do you think, Steve, that it is possible? but i want to previously have my first contact with a bk pickup... so iŽll order mine somewhere between christmas and january next year.
Hails
