yeah... my comment was a joke, not a call to arms indy :P  :?

Steve\Tim,do you guys send BKP's out to artists? Like promo ones?

Reading about bands, i often see that 'well, xxx company sent me an amp, which was great, i may start using them' etc

Id imagine most bands\guitarists would at least TRY something that was sent their way, especially the gear head ones who really love everything about the guitar..

Nope, anyone who wants to try our pickups has to pay for them.

Let's hope it always stays that way!

Unless they come to Music Live or the London Guitar Show...6 1/2 months to go!

No, Zakk on BKP pickups would be a coup...but so is getting Steve Stevens!

Zakk should move to BKPs if only to lose the EMGs -- I've never really gotten into the active pickup sound.

I think Zakk has put some great sounds on disc now and then, but his live sound, at least in recent years, to me has sounded ... thin, perhaps, if that's possible?  Too gainy or compressed?  Something.  Of course, it's better if you're standing 20 feet or so in front of the cab :) but on live recordings it sounds like the tone has been leeched right on out.

Anyway, I'm sure EMG pays handsomely, but the likes of BKP MMs or 'Pigs have got to sound more natural and organic, surely, even with all that outrageous output?

Sounds positive. I was talking to the lads in my local shop about Zakk a while back and one of them knows Jan Cryka who writes for Guitarist as he lives near the shop, who was saying he sunk a while crate of beers in a few hours at his house when they filmed him for the magazine CD and took the rest back to his hotel!

Any news on Zakk using Miracle Man BKP's? There was a rumour that he was going to try them out.  8)
Well, the "pub"?he played at when he recorded bruised, boozed and broken, was filmed here in detroit(harpo's),and is a real nasty area of the city, but more friendly to aproach him-the meet and greet, this time around,he played The "State Theater",in downtown Detroit, which has really high security.I was at stage front, and was able to give Nick(E.T.)2 stickers from bareknuckle, and my Army Green Bkp t-shirt.He took 3 steeps away, and turned back around and asked where this company was from.I showed him the info, which was already there?,and we talked a little while longer, which he later explained to me that they are under contract with Emg,which pays Zakk nicely,to use their product!Heres the funny part-Zakk is looking for replacement pickups for his flying pokadot V's.Nick also said that Emg has questioned them as to their Mofia release, because of the sonic differences between the albums.Suposidly they blamed ot on the new effects they used, with a grin.Thats the least i could do,as Tim has helped me,in desperate times when Our studio got caught on fire, and fried almost all my equipment, leaving me with nothing, literally! He sent me a sonic dementor,to cheer my spirits, which will be with me FOREVER!-Grace to you Brother, along with some Great teachiing tools, and ideas!Yeah,i know,,,i still owe a Calibrated WarPIg clip too!!!I'm gettin to it!!

Top man! I knew someone would give Zakk the news one day! I know Mr Pig said everyone pays which is cool but slipping a few complimentarys Zakks way and have a few quotes on the record praising them would boost sales into orbit. Anything he or Dime put there name on would sells by the truck load. But I'm sure BKP's do anyway!

I've got that DVD from Detriot, it's good isn't it. Looks like a mad house in there. They filmed at the astoria this year in london too. It was insane in there. I used to love the mosh pit but one look at that one had me going upstairs for a few cans on the balcony with the rest of the 40 somethings!

Probably wouldn't do much for his endorsement contract with EMG, though! ;)

The clips of the Asian tour on that BLS dvd smoke the actual concert imo, the crowd was crazier, and the lighting\atmosphere looked unbelievably great!

Shoulda shown the whole thing, those crowds REALLY tear the place up compared to most UK\US ones.

I think Mr Pig doesn't want us to push the product too hard. Push too hard and people push back. Shout too loud and people will put their fingers in their ears. There were reports of something similar happening a while ago.

A subtle hint wouldn't be bad IMO.

Something like: "Hi, I'm new to the forum blablabla...big fan blabla...here's a little Zakk clip I made."

Reply: "Hey, sounds good. What are you using?"

etc.

Maybe this would work. Invite Zakk to one of Tim's live shows. :P

That would be well cool!  8)

I know the band 'Whole Lotta Led' and they told me Jimmy Page was going to turn up at one of their shows but it's not happened yet but you never know!
