NEW NECKS have arrived!!! * Pics *
« on: November 15, 2005, 01:57:54 PM »
My two new Gajic Custom (http://www.gajicguitars.com/) necks arrived yesterday via DHL. As always, they were perfectly packed and arrived in mint condition. As always, the necks are gorgeously made!

I snapped a few pics here in my office, so you'll have to excuse the poor lighting and angles.

I will take some pics of the backs of the necks later today, and you can see the amazing job Laz did in matching the original Micro-Tilt adjustment on his replacement neck.

The bridge is a burnt chrome Cold Sweat, and the neck is a Trilogy Suite. Middle is open. I've had the pups for about a month or so.

My Strat and Wayne necks are both great necks in their own right. However, I wanted to have all of my guitars to be universal in terms of playability. And the only way to do that is to have them all made to the same spec. Laz did a phenomenal job on my Kamikaze 4 neck. My goal with that guitar was to bring it as close as humanly possible to the original Kamikaze, with a J Frog neck. Once I got the neck on the guitar, I was hooked. I think I started discussing replacing the Wayne neck right away. It wasn't until Laz had started making the replacement for the Wayne that we began discussing doing something wild to the Strat.

how much did those necks cost, out of interest?

i know i have a kramer with a 40.625mm nut width neck, i don't like it as much as my ibanez 43mm neck- but i doubt it's worth the cost to get a new neck for it (the guitar only was about £220)- meh, i'l probably just keep it as a messing about guitar, if my new evil guitar plans come to fruition    (this is your cue to ask me about my new evil guitar plans ;) )

EDIT: and 4 neck?  :o

ah...

i'm doing up my ibanez rg470- i've put swinesheads in there (shh, don't tell tim!), and i've got an OFR ordered (a lo-pro edge didn't fit :( )

i'll probably put some sh's into my kramer (again, not a good enough guitar to justify bk's at 3 times the price of sh's)

i NEED a hardtail- probably an ibanez sz520 or a yamaha aes620, whichever i prefer, if i get to try them- again, sh's

and finally, i want an ibanez rg jcustom, i'll switch the dimarzios for bareknuckles in it, because it IS a good enough guitar for bk's \m/ - don't get me wrong, i really like my swinesheads, but i've been reliably informed that bk's are the best of the best... just are dear

ampwise, i'm looking into engls, maybe powerball (i've been saving for ages, just haven't bought hardly anything in the last 2 years!)

what's this 4 neck guitar you were talking about? a kamikaze?

Kamikaze 4 is a limited edition ESP George Lynch signature model. I have a Kamikaze 4 as well as an M1 Tiger. The Kami looks like this:

The M1 looks like this:

The necks are custom, so the price really varies depending on materials/time involved to make 'em.

I'm really not at liberty to say how much the necks set me back, sorry. :(

ok, fair enough, no worries- i'm assuming if they're custom, they're pretty dear :(

They both look great!

Please post more pics when you have the guitar fully assembeld. I wanna see how cool the burnt chrome looks in the Wayne.
