just got tired of being the only dude actually organising stuff, and i know a lot of bands work that way (1 person doing everything) but some of the others just made it hard work by not telling me stuff or changing plans 3 hours before  show. So I decided i'd put in too much effort, too many times to not have that respected so much. so i walked. its been coming for a long time. last week was really just the straw that broke the camels back. nothing major happened, just enough to convince me i didnt want to be in that position any more.

Cheers man, this is annoying. But I pat you on the back for taking the step, as life is too short to waste time with projects where not everyone is pulling his weight.

Real great projects have everyone contribute and people surprise each other with actions, concert proposals or great composition ideas. If it's a one man show with some others in for free drinks and easy chicks, nah, that's not great and you need a clean cut to move on to something on a higher consciousness level!

Well done dude!

Like "Lost at 22", for example?  I like the way you said the best bits, they were always a very patchy band.

Hope it works out OK.

Seems quite a surprise, from what you post on the forum it seems like you were always quite into the band.

I see a change of your username coming up :P or a new band called Dangerous Money

I can empathize with that. I hope you get a gig where everyone pulls in the same direction. Good luck.

Funnily enough, I'm kinda thinking to do the same thing. I know I write all the material, but jeez, the guys don't even contact me to see when the next practice is, or invite me out / around their houses or anything. There's only one person in the band I would do another project with because he's good to work with on writing material and he's always practised and where I need him to be with bells on. (He's the exception in the band really, lives a long way away so I can only expect so much from him.)

Dmoney, I think you just convinced me that there are some things not worth spending the effort on, especially as it all seems all the effort comes from just me. I think I'll shut B.o.D down and talk to my Bass player about something I already have lined up.

Cheers fella, and hope all goes well for whatever you plan to do next!

Good on you mate, well done for standing up to them & making the decision for yourself.

Good on ya, i walked on a band earlier this year, it was the end of an evolution of bands that started about 8 years ago and slowly changed members oevr times so was a pretty big decision to leave it. was pretty much the opposite reason, our singer was the unofficial leader and he had become a bit of an egg. he wanted to stop playing hardcore and start playing rock. i sorta held off for a month or so. Then had made my decision and was gonna quit, but the singer never actually came to practice for the few weeks leading up to my last show, so then last song of the show i told the bassist it was my last show. finished up and that was that. they got a new guitarist, have played 3 shows in the last 8 months and are now breaking up apart from they cant get the singer to confirm his ability to play shows since hes busy with his poetry band. never seen a guy go so full circle in such a short time, 2 years ago he was tough guy hardcore straight edge vegan, now hes none of those things.
im much happier not being in the band, now ive got my 80s metal band to concentrate on and have never been in a band that is so enjoyable.

so in summary- good stuff, hard decision to make but in the end im sure youll end up in a better situation, next band just make sure everyones pulling their weight from the start. good luck finding some good dudes
