That was both surprising and sad news.    It reminds us to make the best of each day , as even the 'beautiful people' are not exempt from the often inexplicable nature of the human condition.

I might be a cynic but... Cardiac Arrest for a celeb at 32?   :?

I think Eric Clapton performed a little ditty about the most likely cause....

edit:
but let me go on to explain myself a bit. of course we don't know the reason behind brittany murphy's death at this point, and of course death is always sad, particularly at this time of year. i lost a good friend due to that stuff (not in the way of death, but he was close to being mad at one point) and would happily see it wiped off the face of the earth.

+1. Apparently her boyfriend/partner was rushed to hospital earlier in the month, also for a respiratory/cardiac problem. My immediate thoughts about both is that drugs were more than likely involved.

I can't say I'd heard of her but nevertheless it is a real shame for one so young.

she's been in many a cr@ppy movie. If it is drugs, then..sorry she knew the risks & took it any way. It may sound callous, but that's why we do risky things to get a high, but at some point something is going to come back to take it's turn

people had better not start pretending she could act though!

She was quite good in Sin City and Don't Say a Word. I think 8 Mile, while financially good for her harmed her career.

Whatever the cause, it's sad news for someone to die so young.  RIP.

I first thought popping pills or drugs was the case, seeing at the abnormality of the death. And I agree, any life lost young, especially for an actor who has potential, i.e. 8 Mile to Sex and the City, etc.

Sad times.

Even sadder the fact that the younger actors, to be the successful ones in the future are all tw@ts.
