No rest for the wicked - sinner/mothers milk
« on: November 17, 2005, 03:38:20 PM »
Right after bodging my way through a bit of the zack wylde pentatonic dvd i decided i'd finally get round to recording this track, i was gonna save it for the Miracle men but decided ah what the hell, plus it would be good to demonstrat how heavy sinners can go.

Basically this is a Zack Wylde influenced track, why it's called no rest for the wicked i dunno just popped into my head at the time.

I'm not sure if i preffer this distortion or the one i had on my funk track, if anyones got any tips for recording in distortion i'd love to know as i find it quite hard, atm i've got one speaker off my cab sectioned off with a microphone in a cardboard box, i stuffed the edges of the box with towels and paper to stop the sound from bouncing back and what not (i think).

Anywhoos, enjoy.

Sometimes backing off both the distortion and recording level can get you a much better recording.

blimey that ends the "weedy" single-coil debate - what a monster of a sound.

Cool, Sekhmet! I'll have to get around to posting my own Sinner clip sometime soon. My playing is nothing like yours though, so it might be useful as a different look at what the pickup can do.
