Ahhh smoking amp

If this pic works..is the 2w 2k2 connected to the bottom of the 47uf's it appears to have died in a big way....can any one point me to what could cause this in this circuit. Help please

I'm guessing the pi filter? Bit difficult to diagnose without seeing the amp, all I can say is double check every bit of wiring and check you've got the transformers wired correctly, check all the valve base wiring again. Do it when you're wide awake and alert, rushing these things never works.

I checked the website mentioned on the schematic and they do offer an advice service for people building their kits, may be better to give them a call/email and send some clear detailed photos of the wiring you've done so far.

Yeah need some time to have a go at it again...yup one ringed is the one.
Has been working for quite a while, went other day when changed valve to a 6v6...turned on amp, turned off standby....smoke.

Will email them if don't get sorted but closed now for xmas..

you changed it to a 6V6? what was it running before? is the new tube tested and known to be working?

Have swapped a few valves in this...can take any octal was a el34 before..this valve has been in it before may have another 6v6 I can try

if it's smoked a resistor then there may not be much point replacing the tube

I'd probably replace the resistor then put the old tube back in

...*L* was thinkin that was also going to go back through and check voltages
