What do you think of these strat bodies?
« on: December 27, 2009, 10:50:36 PM »

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/No18-Alder-strat-1-7kg-trem-Stratocaster-Guitar-body_W0QQitemZ130354744649QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Guitar_Accessories?hash=item1e59bf8d49

I'm thinking of selling my AM standard strat body (9 piece with a veneer) and getting one of these 3 piece bodies

Would they be any good?

Is Alder Alder or are there different types?

What would the best weight be, they range from 1.6 to 1.9 KG?

Allparts are looking expensive now at £170+ for an unfinished body so just looking at alternatives....

That guy lives around ten minutes down the road from me.  I know another local luthier that sources parts from him and gave him the thumbs up.

I'd be inclined to take a flier at that price.

Definitely worth trying.

You might also want to check out Axes R Us, I got my Tele body and neck from there and they were great.

I've had great service from Axesrus as well... Correct orders and fast free delivery! (They are just a bit cr@p at responding to email)

Cool, thanks.

I think I'll give them a whirl.  Will have to sell my old body first.

I've used Axes R Us, they were very good but their bodies are usually finished and I really want an unfinished one.
