So some of you may have followed my thread about singer search, and it's done deal, Najat is our new singer.

And she can pull off some rock too - she doesn't have much experience singing rock but is warming up to it.

Now we were attempting some serious shite today (for a trio setup with one guitar and no keys): Aerosmith's Dream On. I wouldn't say it's perfect yet (I made some stoopid mistakes too  :? ) but for a first day attempt it's not tooooooo bad methinks. Plus I really like the sound I got, although it was the cr@ppy studio Marshall 1960 with G12T75s. Amp is the Steavens pretty much all on the Crunch channel and most played in the middle position plus some volume pot work.

Tell me what you think: http://www.klangforschungszentrum.de/temp/dream_on_najat.mp3

Sounds good...
She sounds a little "shy" then some parts she got on tune a little weird... the high notes usually must be sang more "confident" and "loud"...
But sounds very nice! Think it'll be awesome

Thanks Fernando! Yeah it's all early stages, we all have to work quite a bit more this song, and indeed she's off pitch here and there and needs to work more with mic distance, but I can feel the potential. Plus if you see hear sing, it's a different experience, coz  she's really into it and moves great, it's a very infecting experience ;)

Yeah well, I'll look into the vid thing, but currently we're working on a new set list, so no gigs planned yet.

Here's some more from last night (all work in progress stuff):

Didn't you just have a Miracle Man in the bridge of that guitar, Hunter?

Ok so I swapped the RY bridge of the PRS and put in the MiracleMan while I was waiting for the Emerald I swapped it for. And when the Emerald arrived it felt more like it wanted to be tried in the Edwards, so I took out the VHII and put in the Emerald (which 100% stays in there).

Now I wanted to put the McCarty back into a "normal"-ish guitar so I could swap it with the LP on gigs without having to adjust all amp settings.

Long story short, the VHII does a great job in the PRS and so does the Emerald in the LP. Only thing I'm wondering now is whether I should swap neck pickups between the two guitars but I really came to like the combo of VHII bridge and RY neck.

Quite a swapping history  :D

So your Miracle Man is homeless now, or?
