Categorised posts in Players Forum

We are thinking of implementing categorised posts in the Player's Forum. i.e. One category for Cold Sweat, another for Mississippi Queen etc.

Advantage - easy to find clips for a specific pickup

Disadvantage - perhaps harder to follow new posts?

What do you reckon?

(If we go ahead with this, would any volunteers able to help us share the workload of categorising all the posts kindly PM me?. Thanks)

Great idea!

Maybe in some sort of sub forum format.

Makes sense.

Only issue is if someone uses mixes like CS Neck/Warpic Bridge ... where to put the clips then?

What about somehow making you tick a box for which pickup you are demoing when you try to post a new thread and have it automatically select the subgenre(s)?

What about a split between more general categories - Tele/Strat/Low output humbuckers/mid/high(/comparisons)?

There would be less problems from people using different pickups on the same track then and it would still be useful for someone looking at new pickups. It would also mean a slightly less daunting list of subforums.

If it's two different pickups the demo ought to be focused on one pickup, then submit another clip. It makes sense as it is more focused and choices on pickups can be made more easily. Plus you could link the other pickups you used and your other videos that could present that pickup better.

However if you're just focusing on a one pickup, it might be very bland if it's just rhythm, or just a lead and with a lead you'd need a rhythm anyways so I dunno how to manage that.
