New Pedals Day!!!

I've been longing for some decent modulation effects, but I was conscious of pedalbaord space etc, so I wanted to go for something a little more practical:

So far, this is pretty damn good...  can be over the top, but I like it nice and subtle, which it also does very well.

Also bought this:

Alsolutely loving it!  Was using a Tonerider American Overdrive, which is a great TS clone, but I never really turned to gain above 8 o'clock.  The Devi Ever pedal is more of a boost/treble booster - can be switched between clean and a little gritty - fantastic sparkly tone.  The Punch Love into Crunch Box is just awesome beyond words.

Will get some clips going as soon as poss.

I'd love to get one of those Eventide pedals and the delay one too.... but so expensive although I know if I had the cash I'd get them. Nice one, glad you're enjoying it.

Yeah, the price put me off (or rather, getting it past the wife...)

But I reasoned thus:

I want a good flanger - £100
I want a good vibe type pedal - £200
A phaser wouldn't go amis - £100
I could do with another wah, as mines a bit cr@p - £100

So adding up all the bits that I'd like, it's way more than the Modfactor.  Alright, it's a compromise, but it does sound really great.

Good call. I was really impressed with the quality of the ones I've heard, I sold an amp to a guy who had the Mod, pitch and delay. He was minted mind, but man did they sound good.

Far more to do with marriage than pedal love...

Happy new pedals day!! I didn't realise this could do wah. You just assign an expression pedal to the Q wah then? I'm thinking of going multi as well, looking at a Line 6 M9 to replace my DD7 and CE2, maybe even some dirt pedals :shock horror: It's getting lots of positive reviews.

LazyNinja - I'm guessing the Line6 M9 contains the same effects models as the PODs? If so, I'd say it's quite cute.

I don't use the guitar amp modelling in my POD XTLive anymore. I do use the bass amp modelling I loaded on it, and... I'm using it as a multi-effect board in front of a valve amp. Quite enjoying the mods, delays and reverbs coming out of this little box in the corner :D

not quite. From what I understand the m9 is basically all the Line 6 xx4 series pedals in one plus verbzilla. It has an excellent looper as well. I like the fact it's small compared to other multi fx so that you can put it ON your board rather than it BE your board. My plan is to have this on my main board, and use my Boss GT8 (might replace with Digitech RP500) for those times when I don't have transport available and can't take an amp.

I have an M9, got it for christmas. The effects are amazing, the dirt lacks the nuances of the real thing but the modulation and wahs are top notch, especially the delays!!
Is there such a thing as too much gain?

Yeah (M9), I'm guessing the effects are probably the same software as they put in the PODs - certainly from XT onwards. A fully maxed POD XT contains all the models from their Vetta amps, which in turn, I believe, contains all the software models from their stand-alone stomp boxes.

I too love the mods, delays, wahs in my XTLive - not so keen on the amp and cabs anymore now I have a VOX Tonelab LE.

Effectwise, the only thing I wish the Line6 models had, which the VOX ones have, is a "Ducking" control on the delays. I had no idea what this was until I got the VOX, but now I can hardly live without it - you can set the amount that delayed signal(s) are "ducked" (temporarily quietened) as you play new notes. Absolutely invaluable once you figure out what it does :D

Eventide rocks. I have an old H3000 that I adore. Unfortunately, I still prefer to do harmonies the old fashioned way, but that's not a fault on the Eventide. It still rocks for other things!
