Pickups for Caparison and Scheecter
« on: January 07, 2010, 03:45:27 PM »
Hey, i am getting new pickups and i was wondering what people think I am looking to change pickups in two guitars, 1 7 stringer and 1 6 string.

The 7 string is a Schecter c-7, and there are currently emg 707 in it. But i want a tighter tone with more brutaily and punch to it. I know alot of this in the rig, but i have tried pther guitars on my rig that sounded alot more brutal.
I was thinking a brutal as hell bridge pickup and a smoth clean tone and solo in the neck
The second guitar is a Caparison Horous, and i am looking to change only the bridge pickup. ALso here i need a more brutal soound with more punch. I have been looking at the warpig seeing i will use the neck pickup for cleans.

My rig is the following

Guitar---Tuner-----modded ts-808------NS-2-----Mesa Roadster---Mesa Rectifier 12'2.

What pickups do you reccomend?

Brutal as hell = c-pig.

Smooth clean and solo neck = cold sweat

Another 2 guitars 1 sound thread....do you want the guitars to sound similar or have variation between them? If so what kind of variation do you want?

And welcome.

Thx for the answer. I want a to some point simular sound, but still dimentions. I mean its two differente guitars in alot of ways, so not gonna sound alike anyways, but to explain tone wise would be towards Tesseract, Meshuggah, Bulb, Scar symmertry, so very chughhy and djenty.

thx

If you'd said those guys to begin with, I'd have said painkiller, without a doubt.

Then I'd go for

C-Pig - Painkiller
Painkiller - cold sweat

I have a Nailbomb in my Caparison Horus and it's nice and djenty.
