Weird, I'd been looking at some decals over crimbo whilst I was researching some relicing techniques - http://www.relicdeluxe.com/decals.asp

I think I would have used a white background one to make them stand out more. Did you get any white background ones for comparison?

If I'd want to age them I wonder if chucking them under a sunbed for a while would work?

Nah, I didn't.  With the white ones you need to cut out the decals very accurately to avoid white borders.  I'm not accurate enough with scissors or a knife to do that   Mine are cut out like a Fender logo, with a bubble around the image.

They may well fade under a sunbed if that's your bag...

That is too cool but I like '50s pinups

I think it works really well on the guitar, the fading is more in-keeping with the general relic theme. I'm just about to pimp my Baja, after about 2.5 years of dithering. Maybe a pinup would be a good idea.

Very Nice Dave.  :)

I echo the sentiment that for some reason it sits better on the Teles ( and Gretsches ) of this world. It seems to allude to the whole spirit / essence of Rockabilliy , exuberant good times - and the very best of retro 'Americana'.  I was once going to do that to my own Baja Tele, but thought it might look a bit 'obvious' on a non faded cream Tele - and a far less subtle sticker. Yours however, is the perfect fit of time machine guitar - and deliciously subtle decal application.   8)

But they only work on certain guitars.

Going off topic for a minute, but those pics are a reminder of what a terrific relic job they did on that particular guitar.  It looks so cool.  :)

You've only got yourself to blame for letting her go... Your friends on the board TRIED to warn you that she was special but no... you wouldn't listen.

Now you see Dave and her are happy and have a fantastic life together you want her back?

Well you just had to have her younger sister didn't ya?

3 pickups got your head in a spin... I hope you're happy with that blue hussy of a Strat you've got now!!!

Awesome choice of song.
She's very pretty - me and Shobet both had a go of her while Dave watched the other month.

Back to you Afghan Dave...........

I remember gently cupping her neck in my hand, while holding her body close to mine.

In that moment.... That moment.

I knew I'd never miss curves again....
