Hi everyone,

I've been researching which pickups to get for my guitar for the past couple of months. I know I want a calibrated set of BKs and think I have finally settled on the PK set. Both Tim and Nick (Axe Palace owner) recommended them two me. I'm always looking for more opinions, so If anyone wants to chime in I would appreciate it.

-Guitar is an 06 (preactive) Jackson SLSMG: mahogany body, ebony fretboard. Tuned DGCFAD
- My rig is ENGL heads (e530 into a mesa 50/50 or engl blackmore) into boogie oversized/engl cabs (although I'm looking at completely changing my rig so this isn't set in stone)
- I want something that is versatile for all kinds of metal tones, although I would classify my style as progressive death metal. I want something that can do death/power/ thrash/progressive (maybe even black)
-I want the neck to have that classic Dave Murray (or yngwie) kind of lead sound
-I want the pickups to have good clean sounds; This is secondary however to being screaming metal machines
-Ballsy and articulate are the primary characteristics I'm looking for

Thanks in advance.

Painkiller (bridge) is great metal pickup and works very well in mahogany, but I think that PK (neck) isn't what you are looking for (Murray/YJM)...

I have tried quite a lots of BKP's neck pickups (Mule, Painkiller, VHII, CS, HD, MM and Crawler) and I think that Crawler is best for Dave Murray sound. Nice and fat hot PAF sound.
SL2H with HDs, Custom super-strat with VHIIs, Yngwie-strat with Sinners and KV-2 with PK/CS set

i'd say nailbomb bridge and miracle man neck. i can't remember anyone here EVER suggesting an MM neck, but it's a great pickup IMO... the cold sweat (another great option) will give you a great smooth lead tone, but a bit middy and not that bass heavy.
Mule, MQ, Stockholm, CS, RY, MM, PK, ANB, CNB, AWP, CWP, PiG90...

too many? ;)
