Track recorded with new guitar!
« on: January 12, 2010, 07:44:20 PM »
Posted it in my NGD thread but I guess no-ones interested in that any more  Can't put it in Players as its non-bkp but I guess it'll be fine here.

Wrote and recorded most of it in about 2 hours. Turned out much better than I was expecting actually and I love the tone on it :) SGs are awesome guitars!

Gear is a Gibson SG Standard > byoc overdrive (only used for leads) > Laney GH50L > G12H30 > SM57

Just needs vocals, as all mydo all my other "songs"

Good stuff Tom - with vocals I reckon that would be a great song. Did you put the BYOC together yourself? I'm always thinking of doing one.
I think I hate being indecisive.

Great track Tom !  :D

It sounded very commercial / professional - and did the you ( and the S.G ) proud. I agree that vocals would make it even better - as it may not need embelishing , but deserves the showcasing that (I.M.H.O) the right vocals would do nicely .

Yeah I put the BYOC together myself. Completely $%&#ed up the switch the first time around though, due to a cr@p soldering iron and my general clumsiness. Got it working with a new switch though and it sounds great. Sounded better with a JRC chip, but I managed to break that as well and still haven't got round o buying myself a new one

Love it, get some vocal (no singing dinosaurs, please), make an album... I'll buy it  :)

 at the dinosaurs reference!

I'm not really into "singing dinosaur" vocals any more, when I wrote this I imagined someone like the guy from Supergrass or something singing over the top. Proper brit-rock sound!

That sounded great Tom, very good recording too. Are you still using reaper on a laptop?
Yes some Gaz Coombes style vocals on there would go really well. No way "Raah"!

It is Reaper, but on my desktop now. It's almost 2 years old now and starting to show its age, its slowed down a fair bit even with Windows 7. Still good by most "normal" desktop standards though I guess, quad core processor, beefy gfx card and all that.

The interface is an Edirol UA-25EX :)
