Yep! I mentioned I'd bite his hand off for it a while ago and he remembered  8)

The pickup is a Duncan JB - labeled JBJ - wound by some girl who now works in the custom shop - I can't remember the story behind it but there is one.

Depends how it sounds but I think it would be a shame to start changing things on it as it's managed to stay in once piece for 25 odd years, as tempting as a bkp and drop tuna are!

Gotta replace the 9's with 11's and drop it a half a step though! 8)

Yep, 'tis mine.  It's not getting played, so Lew's having it.  Down to 12 guitars now Philly, and if I sell one other that's out on a trial period (my Warmoth Thinline) I'll be down to single figues of electrics  :o

Lew - do not, I repeat DO NOT, replace the pickup in this guitar.  It's an all original '87ish Baretta.  It deserves to be left alone and played for what it is!  The pickup is an original JB (wound by the now Seymour Duncan Custom Shop manager) and superb  :D

SINGLE FIGURES????!!!!!

Ah, stop showing off.

So the Warmoth's out with a potential buyer?

Yep - "Malcom" from YC/DC likes a bit of jazz on the site, and slim Fender necks, so it'd be perfect for that and him.....

The big question then, how much does a near mint, totally stock 86/87 baretta change hands for?

Beautiful guitars the old kramers, just a shame they're old enough to be so rare. IMO half the point of them was that they were simple enough to be easily modified and white enough to be plastered with stickers and transfers and what-not. Shame to think of them as collectibles...

Idd - I have a mate who has a same era Nightswan, that was toured for years in a household name band and it's holding up well, it's a killer guitar too.

I have no love of 1980's music, but I'd kill to get my paws on a Nightswan.

For years they were going for a pittance in pawnshops and I passed them up, thinking that I can always pick up one up cheap later.

Well, they are not cheap anymore.

Not as much as you might think.  The '84s with hockey stick headstocks go for big money due to the EVH connection.

I won't say what Lew's paying - it's up to him if he wants to disclose it.

NIce! It looks excellent and I too would leave it alone, that JB should sound pretty darn sweet in there.  8)
