899.00 USD = 554.857 GBP,  so it's twice the price in the UK  :roll:

What is it with companies like Mesa and Carvin charging much more for UK customers?

... Are they making the 'mesa' logo out of a unicorn's horn these days or what? Don't see many of these selling...

* shipping from US to UK
* import duty
* profit margin added by UK distributor
* profit margin added by shop

Mesa gear over here is crazy-expensive for what it is.

If it was around £700 I would have taken a look but over a grand is stupid money for an amp like that. however they might just be cashing in on the fact its just been released and the price may fall..... hopefully.

Yeah, all of the above. Same reason as why you can import a PRS cheaper than any UK retailer can buy the same model.

It seems the distributors take a really large chunk. I remember when Gibson went to direct distribution in Germany, Gibson prices dropped a lot!

Well, we can get Marshall, Engl, Diezel, Orange, etc cheap here in Europe, but Soldanos, Mesas, Suhrs etc are very much $$$$$ over here ...

I can see the appeal of distributors from the manufacturer's point of view - a single order for each country, meaning less administrative costs AND they can hold the distributor the ransom and stipulate that they must order the entire product range.  All this means to the customer is they get less amp for their money.

It does look nice and compact. Very light by the looks of things.
