Just got a place at the BIMM
« on: January 16, 2010, 07:07:59 PM »
Just got back from my assessment and was offered a place on a course.

Just thought I'd post to show how chuffed I am over it.
I too use chicken as a measurement.

Congrats :) I wanted to do something like that but ended up doing the "normal" thing and came to uni instead!

Nice one man, I know quite a few people there/going there next year!

Guthrie Govan is teaching there at the moment I think, and a drummer friend of mine had a masterclass with Ghost of a Thousand which I thought was pretty cool.

Enjoy it.

Excellent.  I'd love to have done something like that when I was younger.

You'll have to keep the forum up to date with what's going on there.

Well done.

One note of advice from someone who already has a degree in Music (albiet the "traditional" one, as opposed to music performance or whatever it is BIMM awards), MAKE it work for you. Vocationally, it's all but useless, but if you use it to give you several years worth of education on your instrument and for networking then your time spent studying can be great and extremely useful.

Exactly my plans.

It looks to be a very intensive course, too so well worth the money I'll have to conjour from somewhere (I'll begin looking for grants and loans on monday.).
I too use chicken as a measurement.
