I tried a Collings out at Guitar Village. Very nice indeed but way too expensive for me! I woudl also be worried about putting a dent or scratch on it.

I didn't realise GV had them, I must have a look sometime.  Not with a view to buying, way too expensive, as you said!  They do look too pretty to scratch, not at all the kind of guitars which would suit a relic look!

Yep - they've got a couple of City Limits in stock - click on the 'other' section on the solid body guitar menu.

Lovely!  But £4,400 is just mental.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Indeed it is. The shape is a bit odd for me though - nice to play but a bit of an odd look.
I think I hate being indecisive.

Thanks everyone - I'd already sussed Coda and Guitar Village, thanks for the other tips.

As for World Guitars, they're just up the road from me.  If PRS's are your thing you will soil yourself when you walk in there. Just loads of stunning and often rare PRS's, beautifully presented in a really cool old magistrate's building.  It's very impressive and the guys who run it are very friendly and enthusiastic.  I keep an eye on their website in case they get the kind of Gibson I'm looking for in stock, I'd like to shop with them on principle because their attitude is so good.

I've been in before. I must say they make a good cuppa and it's one of the best shops I've been in.

They better.
It's about 3 hours away for us and we have no money to buy anything.

Call off the search!  Went to Vintage and Rare in Bath today to arrange for them to do a commission sale for me on a Les Paul that I don't play anymore and want to use to fund the purchase of a 59 VOS.  I walk in and there's this staggeringly beautiful 59 that came in the day before, 2008 iced tea burst, pant-wetting flame top and a massive tone.   They gave me a good price for my Lester, I bought the 59 by putting the balance on my creditcard.  I nearly shat my pants, but God what a buzz.  I now have to go and sell my arse to pay of the creditcard.

We managed not to buy a single thing. Even though I came awfully close to taking a Cornell Romany home with me. Maybe next time...

Matt bought a shandy and some chocolate hob-nobs.

Not even a pedal.
Some of us have willpower.
And anyway, they didn't have many pedals and none I needed.
Played a DC30 which sounded good with a custom shop Tele.
Liked the P-90 on the Gary Moore Gibson. Sounded nicer than the PRS singlecut to me. Felt a bit cheap to play though
