Help! Whys my Humbucker Humming?
« on: January 31, 2010, 07:48:13 PM »
Let me first start by saying that even though i worked in the PCB industry for 5 years i'm not the brightest spark when it comes to wiring. Anyway, I've been eyeing up my old Epi SG Custom recently and thought I'd have a bit of a tinker. I've stuck an old Ibanez humbucker in the bridge position to try to hot it up a bit. I wired up the wires like for like but am left with 1 black wire with nowhere to go.

I presume this is a ground (hence why its humming). My question is where do I ground it to?

Thanks

Roy

Usually the back of the same pot where the output jack is currently grounded.

I had the same problem so I grounded it to my bridge. It helped but I can still hear a slight hum.
Either you got it, or you dont!!!!
