new sakura
« on: February 07, 2010, 05:54:22 PM »
am doing two for different people at the moment and while the other only needs sanding and its far too cold to be finishing it, im leaving that for a while and getting on with this one.

its just a sakura model, but with a tonepros tunomatic and tailpiece, master vol and tone (usually hardtail bridge and 2 vols, master tone).

mahogany back, flame maple top (will be some kind of transparent blue), maple neck, rosewood fretboard. heres where it is so far

and this will be the inlay - he just wanted flames originally, but i did a little sketch using my standard 12th fret inlay as the flames and he liked it so thats what it will be

neck is fretted and rough shaped and is gluing into the body as we speak. the top will get glued on later tonight and left over night.

this is the 12th fret side marker. the rest are aluminium tubes

Lovely work as usual.
What types of stone did you use for that inlay?

I'd be scared to touch one of your guitars as I fear my neanderthal gropage would violate their beauty.

Never mind - you've still got wood. And you clearly know what to do with it.
