Emerald bridge clip: Classic Rock lead.
« on: February 12, 2010, 05:20:55 PM »
This is a short clip with an Emerald bridge pickup only, over a backing track (written by Althrax).

Recorded using my LP Classic, to Audacity via a Toneport UX2. Fender '64 Deluxe and Proco Rat models used.

Good stuff - that sounds surprisingly good for a Line 6 product.
I think I hate being indecisive.

I actually only got the Toneport to act as an audio interface, and was unaware of the available Podfarm models and FX.

Turns out that it's capable of generating decent sounds, which is a nice bonus.

Like it!  It's hard to describe, but it sounds like the Emerald bridge has an aggressive biting-but-fat quality which I really like.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

That's a pretty accurate description of the bridge pickup. Tim also uses the word aggressive to describe these pickups, and I wont disagree with that.

Got to agree... I've always wondered about Emeralds and that has me thinking I want some! Nice clip.

Very nice indeed. The playing and tone drew me in nicely.  :) Whilst the track had it's own character, I could hear that distinctive Brian Robertson era Thin Lizzy echoing in there. Set in a live context, I could imagine Brian's role from 'Live And Dangerous' being well reproduced.  Spot on.  :)
