Has anyone been watching Bellamy's People?

Very funny. Its on tonight at 10:00 on BBC 2.

Its got some of the old Fast Show actors in it like Paul Whitehouse, Felix Dexter & Simon Day.

Nah, I've been avoiding it on the iplayer when looking through the comedy section.

For some reason I thought it looked liked Gavin and Stacy/2pints and packet of crisps etc... and frankly there's so much of that adolescent, thicko, toilet humor shite on the BBC nowadays I'm careful what I click on, 'cause you never know!

I wish it all stayed on ITV and late night channel 4, it's not even safe to watch the BBC anymore!

Ofcourse... I could be completely mistaken and maybe it's worth watching? :-p

Thanks for the nudge Johnny, I will give it a spin. Apart from thinking Paul Whitehouse is an great  morphing comedy actor -  it is also great to hear that Felix Dexter is involved ; as his early comedy monologues where real gems.   He once did a monologue as a very educated , pin stripe suited,  professional City gent, trying to visit a 'Blues Club' to meet his "Bretheren". It developed and entertained masterfully :)

Felix Dexter is super funny. You've got to watch it. Last week Him and Paul Whitehouse were acting in very stereotypical roles. One as an African Traffic warden and one as a painter and decorator in a 1966 England top. I think a lot of it looked improvised as they're both good comedians. There is another 5 episodes to go.

I know what you mean but its nothing like 2 pints and Gavin and Stacy. You should like this if you hate those.  :D

I have just watched it Johnny, and enjoyed it.  :)

Lovely and subtle, sending up the likes of Eckarte Tolle  - and the current rash of 'Britain's hardest men' junk on T.V.  Wonderfully observed, and showed great restraint in the writing / character development.  The way the ( very accurate portrayal of ) the drunken trio of girls went from bad to worse being horribly real :  " Don't watch me p**s in the street ,  I'm a lady ! " .  Brilliant.  :lol:

I like Felix Dexter as Early D.  There are a lot of people like that in my part of London - that weird mixture of friendliness and threat!

Very good show with great actors and some very well observed humour.. a little hit and miss but very good.

The drunk girls outdoor scene was filmed in Watford in front of a notorious pond on the highstreet where there are loads of bar and clubs.

There is ALWAYS trouble - even I've been in a street fight there (after which I ended up in that pond).  :?

So obviously I really fancied the dirty drunk girl who pissed in the street on her handbag... Pure Class.

Watching her golden release a song popped into my head...

Fair point Dave,  upon reflection apologies are in order ; as when I look back through your posts on the forum , the only mention you made of the female form was as follows :
