neck mississippi queen vs cold sweat: any direct comparison?
« on: February 22, 2010, 12:27:32 PM »
i've got my MQs in a bright neckthrough, and my CSs in a quite dark and middy SG... comparing the two neck pickups the CS sounds... well... darker and middier.
has anyone got any experience of these two units in similar sounding guitars?

i'm planning to have a neck painkiller that didn't turned out as exciting as i hoped (my expectations were based on my other PK equipped guitars...) rewound as a CS or changed with a MQ. guitar is an LTD EC1000 that sounds a bit like my SG except for the brighter attack of the ebony fingerboard.

the fact is that i love the CSs in my SG (actually one of the best guitar/pickups coupling in my arsenal...), but i'm curious to try a MQ in the LTD!
Mule, MQ, Stockholm, CS, RY, MM, PK, ANB, CNB, AWP, CWP, PiG90...

too many? ;)
