Need a wiring diagram
« on: February 27, 2010, 10:26:29 PM »
I'm doing up my old epi les paul, started taking the top down to bare wood whilst the rest is going to a matt finish to make the playability better.

Gonna put some MQ's in the middle/neck and a Pig-90 in the bridge. I want some more versatility out of the switching though so I was planning on doing the Yamaha Troy Van Leeuwen Signature all-access style setup but I need a diagram for it, can anyone help? I think it's based on an old ES model but don't know what one.

This is all in my impatience in waiting for my custom Feline Jaguar/Firebird hybrid that Mr. Law is building for me.  :D

Not familiar with that model ... but looking at this, isn't it just a simple Les Paul style 3-way switch for the neck and bridge with an on/off switch for the middle pickup?

Close but the second switch is a three way, I believe it turns on the middle pickup on/off and also turns it on whilst turning off the neck/bridge at the same time. My electronics is a bit rusty atm not done any in a while, cheers anyway Frank.

Two double-pole three way switches then? That'd confuse the hell out of me.

Don't take this wiring as gospel, I'm on the brandy right now. I'll probably look at it tomorrow and wonder what the hell I was thinking.

Umm, I'm not sure if that's quite right I'll give it a go. If not I'll ask my dad or my old tutor for some help. Literally just ordered the pickups/switches and I'm getting a set of those new custom tapered 550k pots Tim mentioned, should hopefully be here by next week. Then I just gotta oil the top and possibly get new hardware.

Cheers bud,
Martyn
