Just wrote this article for my site, thought you guys might be interested. Some of it will be old news to you but its a nice little introduction to the modding scene. :D

Interesting. I don't think I'd be brave enough to try mod 5 on my old Marshall, she's a delicate old bitch.

Haha yeah big risk of frying the OT. What'd put me off more is the huge voltages that are actually outside the amp, although having said that, I've even been electrocuted  by flicking the standby switch before so you're never really that safe...

it is! mr. twistyneck knows what hes doing though, ive corresponded with him a bit, cool guy. check out his videos on youtube playing live with this setup.

hard to tell with him isnt it. the consensus seems to be these days that he used it to lower the voltage,  in order to reduce the strain on the output valves from this Cerrem mod he was using.

Indeed. The youtube vid is a monument, still - totally sick, made me laugh so hard my son started to wonder about my mental health :mrgreen:

i read somewhere that Eddie made up the story about the amp mods as a favor to help that jose guy generate more business (they were good friends)
