Hendrix backing tracks
« on: March 13, 2010, 07:34:28 PM »
Hello chaps, long time no see :) Hope all the regulars are still lurking somewhere!

I've got my A2 Music performance coming up fairly soon and my "Focus" (you have to have one of those apparently) is Hendrix. I've got some average backing tracks already, but they have a mixture of: an awful amateur singer, the guitars still audible in the background (an accompaniment guitar is fine, just not Hendrix's lead), or a hideous midi sound.

The tracks I'm specifically looking for are Purple Haze, Voodoo Chile (Child or Chile I've never been sure?), Fire, and Little Wing. Although if anyone knows of a good source for any other tracks that would be great too.

Anyone got any good sites to look at or have the tracks themselves?

Thanks very, very much advance guys,

Sam.

i've never been looking for hendrix tracks, but guitar bt dot com (something like that... there might be an underscore in there) has a bunch of backing tracks... also guitar backing tracks dot com (again, something like that).

Hi Sam, I have a few extracts of them but that is all they are-not the whole thing. Good to see you back btw.

Have a look through this thread. It's well over 100 pages but I think there are quite a few links to hendrix backing tracks.
There is a live purple haze backing track on page 9. I'm sure there are more if you look through

I have been searching for .mogg files for a while now. You can get some great results getting a .mogg file open in Audacity and then isolating whichever track you need.

This may lead to a new thread, but has anyone else much experience of doing this?

GuitarBT.com has a pretty good Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) BT I think. If I had the time I'd program the drums for you myself then it'd just need a bassist.
