Gotta be done!  I went through a pedal phase, and a guitar cull phase, now it's a "try some more guitars" phase!

Got to agree ...... what has it got to offer that you can't get from your Modern Eagle, Francine. 65 SG etc ???

A definite candidate for Seconds Out in a few months I think  :(

That's what I thought too, it's not different to anything else you have got.

At the end of the day, it is your cash and needs/wants/desires to have fun with it!

Speaking as a sometime artist I'd say aesthetically, once you get used to the strangeness of it, that outline works well.

By the way congratulations for winning The Man With The Most Understanding Missus In Britain award.

I love it! I've always been intrigued by Padouk as a body wood. I imagine its quite weighty, seeing as its very dense?

Don't worry TF, someones on your side!

My missus is very long suffering, and yes I am very lucky in that regard

A much lower price tag, making it a great working tool that I don't have to be paranoid about taking care of  ;)

It's lightish - around 8.25lbs.

Gareth - nothing is leaving the stable as yet  :)

I don't know, I'd have to put in a strong nomination for Mrs R before the voting takes place

Dave, does yours have to suffer endless theorising on tone and "what-if" scenarios about various bits of kit, as well?

(I was well impressed when we were watching something on TV the other night, and old Elvis hit came on, and I asked "what guitar do you think that is?" - so just the music, no pictures... not only did she pick Fender... she sometimes goes Fender or Gibson... but she just came straight out and said "telecaster"... Yesss!)

Just to reiterate what Dave's said, it does look different in the flesh. I thought it was superb, and would have bought it there and then if I'd had the cash!
The quality is astonishing, at any price, but at £1200, wow.

As he does an SG influenced shape, I'd better get saving! :D

how come when dave is selling guitars, a recession pops up, then he started buying them again and we got a recovery!

Not quite sure how you keep buying these guitars mate

Since last summer, so in the last 9 months, the balance has been:

* Fano JM6 - McCarty Rosewood #1 traded in for it, plus cash from selling an Ibanez RG
* La Cabronita and Ian Price's Esquire - PRS McCarty traded in a three way deal for the Esquire, plus sales of my Kramer Baretta and Thinline Tele covered this
* Pearly Gates - my motorbike sale will cover this
* 1965 SG - PRS McCarty Rosewood #2 sold on eBay last year covered this

So actually, the PR Guitars SCR is the first complete new purchase since the Modern Eagle.....
