Dave, does yours have to suffer endless theorising on tone and "what-if" scenarios about various bits of kit, as well?

Err, yep!

(I was well impressed when we were watching something on TV the other night, and old Elvis hit came on, and I asked "what guitar do you think that is?" - so just the music, no pictures... not only did she pick Fender... she sometimes goes Fender or Gibson... but she just came straight out and said "telecaster"... Yesss!)

Mrs Twinfan can spot a Mesa Rectifier by sound alone  :o

Just to reiterate what Dave's said, it does look different in the flesh. I thought it was superb, and would have bought it there and then if I'd had the cash!
The quality is astonishing, at any price, but at £1200, wow.

As he does an SG influenced shape, I'd better get saving! :D

The SG types look cool, I think his detailing goes well with the body shape.  Not so keen on his Strat types, they remind me a bit of the old Fender "Lead" models.

Pity the options seem to be limited to padauk/oil finish - bit I guess it helps keep costs down, he's not trying to be all things to all people.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Crumbs - just started looking at the other guitars on his site... I kinda like them all! (This is Mr Strat-have-to-look-like-strats here...)

The only thing I can think is it's this Oil-finished Padauk look that's grabbing me...

It's a great look isn't it?  And as Martin has reiterated the attention to detail is up there with the best.  And I mean that!  The guitar is perfectly executed, no flaws that I could see ANYWHERE.

I like the SG also... but perhaps he should make it a little weirdier... The likeness of these design are being weird.

Do you know if these necks are made by him from scratch or he does buy from Warmoth/USACG/etc and make the headstock shape?

Nah, I like to try before I buy.  The only exception is the WezV Cabronita, and even then I already had the neck!

It's kind of growning on me Dave. I remember reading the review in Guitarist and also thinking they were a bit harsh on the vfm rating. After looking at the PR website I think I prefer the SG styled one.

Great price for a UK made guitar too. Looking forward to giving it a go one day - if you still have it of course
I think I hate being indecisive.

Of course!

Martin swears I'll fall completely in love with it, and he already thinks it's the best guitar I'll have bought up to now....

I actually like the look of it! It's not something I would personally play as I am more a fan of traditional looking guitars (strats, teles, les pauls etc) but I like seeing guitars that have something unique and different about them. It will definitely be a guitar that will grab peoples attention at gigs!

Congrats on the purchase, and remember to post pics and some clips once you get it ;)
BKP's own: Irish Tours, Mule(b), Black Dog(b)
BKP's had: Riff Raffs, Nailbombs

Here ....... this is a bit of a novel thread .... Twinfan buying a new guitar........ haven't I read this already last week, ............... and the week before, ............. and the week before ....... and..... PDT_006

I thought this was the 'Twinfan buys new gear '  Forum !  :o

There's a guy called Tim keeps trying to muscle in and take all the credit for it's existence ; but essentially it's Dave buying stuff,  Hunter leaving great sound files, me ar**ing about, Philly keeping it cultured - Afghan Dave reminding us that other 'pleasures' exist , Shobet reminding us once a week that we are all W***kers , MDV arguing with whatever part of the world is awake just now, and threatening to kill transgressors with a Metal blitzkrieg  - and  THEN the great majority being far too intelligent, balanced , experienced, informative and generally pleasant / helpful.

But basically , we're ALL here because of Dave .   :)

It's a bit like one of those 1,000 episode American shows ( Lost with Heroes in Smallville - because Jericho is closed right now ) - in that you might think it's all gone on a bit too long,  but then you tune in again for just one more installment.

The Stock Exchange 'movers and shakers' log in every day, for fear the Balance Of Payments has tipped.

Much to her ongoing credit, Mrs. Twinfan ( the true Lady that she is ) - can now distinguish Fender Telecaster from Gibson R9 un- chambered , Mesa-Boogie dual rectifier from 70's Silverface Twin ;  but it's ALL the sound of approaching bankruptcy ...
