Here ....... this is a bit of a novel thread .... Twinfan buying a new guitar........ haven't I read this already last week, ............... and the week before, ............. and the week before ....... and..... PDT_006

I thought this was the 'Twinfan buys new gear '  Forum !  :o

There's a guy called Tim keeps trying to muscle in and take all the credit for it's existence ; but essentially it's Dave buying stuff,  Hunter leaving great sound files, me ar**ing about, Philly keeping it cultured - Afghan Dave reminding us that other 'pleasures' exist , Shobet reminding us once a week that we are all W***kers , MDV arguing with whatever part of the world is awake just now, and threatening to kill transgressors with a Metal blitzkrieg  - and  THEN the great majority being far too intelligent, balanced , experienced, informative and generally pleasant / helpful.

But basically , we're ALL here because of Dave .   :)

It's a bit like one of those 1,000 episode American shows ( Lost with Heroes in Smallville - because Jericho is closed right now ) - in that you might think it's all gone on a bit too long,  but then you tune in again for just one more installment.

The Stock Exchange 'movers and shakers' log in every day, for fear the Balance Of Payments has tipped.

Much to her ongoing credit, Mrs. Twinfan ( the true Lady that she is ) - can now distinguish Fender Telecaster from Gibson R9 un- chambered , Mesa-Boogie dual rectifier from 70's Silverface Twin ;  but it's ALL the sound of approaching bankruptcy ...

THAT is a classic Derek post!

I reckon you'll like it Matt - you'll have to pop round.

What have you got in the works?

Will do when I have the worlds slowest frankenstrat build completed.
If I pop round before then I'll feel like a leech

Nice one. Never heard of these guys. Interesting looks I'm sure it looks much better in flesh. The lower body looks like arse (literally)!

I am not sure whether I like it or not.The lower bout is a bit eccentric for me I think but apart from that it does look good. Good job you stuck to your resolution Dave.

Ha! Latest news is that the neck is being slotted tomorrow and then I can fondle it later in the week.

  I was never going to stick to it was I?  I like buying and selling gear too much!

I've turned down/walked away from buying a second guitar this week so I'm not completely insane!

£1,200 for a UK hand-build guitar sounds like a good deal to me  :)

I'll admit I'm not too fussed about the looks, but Dave has some killer looking guitars anyway so to have something different with top notch build and a real player is going to take some pressure off the top flight stuff when it comes to gigging. It took me a while to get over the G&L headstock shape but the fact is my G&L plays better than any Fender I've picked up and I think a players guitar should be feel, sound and the aesthetics last. Now, give me a Tigers eye Suhr somebody

I really like it - 25' scale length, great build quality its like a british quirky PRS but not. I love the double cut strat alike - that would be killer with a HSS combo. Might have to call him  8)
