Storm the Charts (my band is through to round 2)
« on: March 26, 2010, 02:42:50 PM »
Is anyone else taking part in the storm the charts campaign that the guy behind the Rage Against the Machine for Christmas No.1 is running at the moment?  It's quite an ambitious idea, the ultimate goal is to try & get 40 unsigned (or on small indie labels) in to the UK top 40 at the same time. Link to the Facebook Group for it if anyone fancies checking it out.

It might be a bit over ambitious, but if it earns a few hard working bans a bit of cash it can't be a bad thing :)

If he aims for forty and only gets five it's still a very good thing.

Quite.

My band 'World is Static' are in to round 2 of the competition to be chosen for the final 40 bands of the campaign.

If any of you have a second before midnight on Friday could you pop over to here & vote for World is Static please.

PS.  There's a coldsweat bridge &  a painkiller bridge on the track we've put forward :D

I know it's really bad form to post three times in a row, but I hop can forgive me this once.  My band (World is Static) is hovering around 10 votes behind the group leaders in the current poll & could really do with a boost before this round ends at midnight tonight.

Thanks guys

Same here, followed the link and closed - oh well, two lost votes still wouldn't have clinched it.  Pisser!  :(

That's cool.  Thanks for trying.  Seems there's been a big hoo-haa about cheating so all the voting for that round is going to be checked.  So we may or may not get through to the next round this week....  But this is running over 10 weeks picking 4 bands a week with everyone back in it again on Monday (excluding the winners). :)

I remember similar shenanigans when I was in a band doing my own stuff - it was all voted online and we were in the lead by a mile, then in the last few hours the bad who won the next stage got something daft like 1500 votes in a few hours - don't ask me how they did it, but it obviously wasn't legit.
