single malt guitars!
« on: March 27, 2010, 08:23:59 PM »
in the US there's a guy who makes guitars from derelict barns and old refrigerator parts. i love that stuff... well, i discovered that Manne, a small brand that makes excellent guitars less than 1 km from where i work (but i never liked their shapes, unfortunately) has done a special edition using Lagavulin barrels!

Mule, MQ, Stockholm, CS, RY, MM, PK, ANB, CNB, AWP, CWP, PiG90...

too many? ;)

you're not a whisky lover, i suppose... ;)
it's an Islay single malt... i prefer Laphroaig but it's cool anyway!

If i'm not mistaken that's an OAK guitar....... probably a better use of a beautiful tree too than a barrel for gutrot!

Personally I prefer Lagavulin to Laphroig - Laphroig lacks the subtlety of Lagavulin -  but back to guitars - Fylde have been making acoustics from casks this for a while - http://www.fyldeguitars.com/guitars.html
BKPS: Milks, P90s, Apaches, Mississippi Queens, Mules, PG Blues, BG FP 50s, e.60s strat custom set

Cool! Anyone has idea of what is this WA Wraparound bridge? Looks like the Wilkinson Wraparound, but on this whiskey guitar it look like made of Brass, what I'd like to try...

also known as orgmorg on project guitar - his work is great.

they are built from actual old barns and things and i am always amazed how he keeps the character of the barn  in with the new stuff he is doing to the wood

well, that's how it's supposed to look! a classy - and mysterious - pile of rubbish. between mad max and the blair witch project.
