Speaker recommendations needed

I'm planning to replace the stock HH speaker in my old Laney TF300 in a bid to improve its tone. It needs to be a 12" speaker, with at least 100W power handling (as the amp puts out 90 or so I believe), but other than that I'm open to suiggestions/recommendations.

The only other critieria is that it shouldn't cost the earth - upper limit's about £120. The amp's old and part of a second rig only used for bedroom practice and jam sessions, so I don't want to spend a great deal on it.

Best bang for buck in my experience has been Eminence - they sell speakers around 50 quid that are pretty good.

The only one Ive tried is the only one I've got, though - the swamp thang. I have them paired with V30s.

Sound-wise it's got to be a bit of an all rounder really, which I know doesn't help narrow things down too well. Broadly speaking I suppose, a rocky sound, but capable of some subtlety too.

Celestion Hot 100 gets my vote.  Cheap, good neutral sound.

Maybe. I have them in an X, so its pretty homogeneous more than a couple of meters from the cab - you might get some different character either side, but I've found they compliment each others flaws so you would probably do well with 2x12 - the V30 is bringing fast attack, sizzle and tight low end, the swamp thang is smoothing the top end and fattening up the lows and putting growl in the low mids, and more general 'slam' to them (V30s are pretty constrained sounding, STs are not). If I were to try them in a 2x12, I'd probably put the cab on its side, with the V30 above the ST, so side to side dispersal is equal and the more defined speaker is above the ground (just a guess of course, experimentation is key)

It depends on the volume you'll be playing at too.  I'm not aware of anyone who likes V30s at less than band levels.....

taydens are good so are the hot 100's, I also like the g12k 100 and the jensen c12k

My favourite speakers are the Celestion G12K and EVM12L-black. The EVM is out of your price range, and both are marketed as heavy-duty metal machine speakers, but the cleans on the G12K are outstanding, as well as a lovely grind in the lower register when things get really nasty.
BUT, given your requirements, I'd go with Twinfan on the Hot 100. It's a great all-round speaker, especially so if you're not into Broootalz, and it's cheap!

Don't forget to break it in ;)
