EBay issue, Buyer/Seller, All that Jazz (Sorted :D)
« on: April 03, 2010, 11:40:22 AM »
OK, I bought a camera lens recently (£445) and I was unable to pay with Paypal, and thus I considered a bank transfer which instantly threw me out of the Buyer Protection scheme on eBay, I have paid. He/she/it/tw@t person has said they have sent it.

It's supposed to be sent 1st Class, and it was sent around the start of last week.

You can guess already that - I have not received it.

Solutions? As I don't really want to throw away £445 for a few days of stress.

So far I've got "contact seller", "report dispute with seller", "police".

If they are sending a lens costing £400+ then surely they will have sent it recorded delivery or special delivery.
If they didn't ,and you didn't request that they do so, then you are both foolish.
I NEVER sent anything Ebay without a signed for service and if it's of any value it HAS to go Special Delivery which has insurance of £500+

However the seller should prove to you that he posted said item - a proof of postage at the very least from the post office - ask him to scan it in and forward it to you

Has the seller got good feedback so far?
Is there any reason to doubt that it's in the post?

I know I'm at fault in parts.. :(

And he's got 151 in feedback, and not only as a buyer he's sold some stuff too.

jonny, even if this goes against you should be happy to know you are at least honest .I have difficulties with paypal
when i buy from france (where i live) using my english card so send a cheque instead which obviously leaves me vulnerable because nothing is dispatched before it has cleared.I'm careful with feed back and what the seller says.Hope the lens arrives , if not i would continue to badger the seller in the hope that his conscience gets the better of him if indeed he's tried to fraud you.

It is very likely just still in the postal system.  Even so just contact the seller and ask, most people are very helpful and are happy to communicate.  As Feline said he should have sent such a high value item recorded so just ask when it should be with you and if it was sent recorded so you can track it.

Best course of action is to just be cordial at this stage and see if it arrives tomorrow.

It's probably just cause its over the Easter break time but this guy/girl/person/thing's communication is weak as $%&#.

I know my lesson for next time.

All sorted, it said 1st Class postage but it was Special Delivery in the end but I ought to have asked I guess.

Got the lens yesterday. All good!
