hahaha.
yeah I ain't done too bad.
A lot of credit goes to guys on here for all their help.
I remember calling up an amp tech a while back about one of my old amps. maybe my JCM800 2205 or 5150 and asking for help and all i got was...
"oh a what kind of amp? I don't have schematics for that, so yeah, I can't help you"
"thats ok, I have them, I can give you a copy... Im sure you can find them online"
"yeah but I probably don't want to look at it"
"...what? really?"
"yeah, so... no, don't bring it here."
If I'd have needed help with a JTM45 or bassman, I probably would have got help.
You know what... I really hate the attitude I get from some musical retail related types because of the gear I use. Not that its bad... I just feel like sometimes because I don't play "rock" or blues through super vintage stuff, I'm some kind of leper.
Thats not the case round here though it seems. which is cool. tools to suit the job right?
You know... I went into a shop on denmark street to get some EL34's once, and I got told that I didn't need matched pairs, and I should probably try mixed pairs of tubes. 6L6's and KT88's in the same amp. That I should just go ahead and mix things up, and that i'm an idiot for knowing about this... fact is i do know about that, and im worried that someone selling guitars would give advice like that to anyone who wonders in from the street, as im sure 'get any pairs of whatever kind of tubes and plug and play' isn't the best advice.
I dunno how, but that got into a bit of a weird rant.
