My partner has just called me to say that my new guitar (a Baja) has just been delivered and that she's moved it into the music room. Apparently it is sat next to the Strat and the Strat is looking very sorry for itself (I think it knows it's going to be sold).

I hate waiting to try new things out! I've got at least 5 hours until I get home and I'm due to be cooking tonight. Maybe I'll cook a take away.

To while away the hours I'll be trying to decide who would win a fight between a Tele and a Strat. At the moment my money is on the Tele.

The Baja's are great Ian, you can get decent stratty tones from them anyway.

Strat's and Tele's don't fight each other though, they gang up on PRS's and beat them up for having nancy bird inlays :D

Nice one Ian. I'd be interested to here what you think of the Baja after you've played it for a bit this evening. I've been thinking about getting one of these or a CIJ Tele to put a set of Yardbirds in.

I think Strats and Teles complement each other -I can't say I prefer one over the other but congrats on your purchase.

+1 on this for me, but that's possibly cos I've got the ones I want and I'm in a position to keep them together...

Right at the moment I'm a complete strat-o-holic.

If I pick up one of me teles it's "just another guitar", nice but ...

Actually, the SG and the Red Special are getting more love than the teles at the moment.

If I pick up one of the two strats, though, it's more of a spiritual experience every time.

However, this will all change and I'll be favouring something else in a few weeks (hopefully something I have already :lol:)


Anyway, congrats on the purchase, but I really don't envy you the decision/etc... Much as I love it, I'd have to bin my Baja before one of my strats at the moment, and I'd ALWAYS bin my Baja before I had to bin both strats.

Cheers Andy - I would rather not have been in this position (obviously) but am happy that I am making the right decision at the right time. I've thought about it for a while and think that this has given me the chance to get myself into the right mindset. My partner has also said that maybe I can get myself another strat if I find one I like in future - so I'm hoping that I'll only be stratless for a couple of years.

I've had a good look over the tele and a very quick play. It sounds very nice indeed. It's strung with 9's and will be re-strung with 10s at some point in the next few days.

good for you, like all good things though strats & tele's aren't to be compared. if i could only own one guitar it would be a srat , no doubt. i'd like to try a baja though especially as it has 4 way switch(i think).
