Mucho improvement to the D-Sonic/AirNorton combo I had there before, the HD is a lot more open sounding, punchy and more articulate. More low end which is pretty damn tight especially for A5 pickup. It has less output than the D-Sonic though. The HD cuts through better in full band mix as well based on last nights rehearsals.
The NB has more oomph than the Air Norton, screaming pickup... I emailed Tim at BKP about the DC rating (16.5k) and we both came to the conculsion it's also a bridge pickup! Oh well, sounds pretty wicked for now, I'll probably trade it for something else later on... I bought these 2nd hand as a set, hence the issue.
More in depth review after I have time to record a proper clip with my Savage. the amp plugins are OK but can't compete with a good real mic'd amp JMO.
Here's a fast sloppy take and mix with TSE X30 and Catharsis impulse. All amp plugin settings at noon. No EQ on guitar tracks. 2 tracks per pickup, hard panned 100% to each side. Pretty old strings on both, Db standard tuning.

And here's a sloppy clip with only the Angelus, pre and after pickup change. Too bad the pre clip is pretty sloppy, didn't know back then I'd record it again with the HD.
So this time it's the same guitar and strings. And settings.
The tune is Nevermore's Beyond Within, Db standard tuning.
Same plugins used as on the previous clip except added a 8505 plugin lower in the mix on both channels.
