Yes more than i'll ever need but i may as well put it all on there as there is plenty of room. Fancy banging out some bubble gum pop projects for the money?

Yes, I'm in love already! Photos look like you can walk in to them. I could sit up with this all night but I can't.

Oh god, installing Logic is the biggest pain in the arse! We're going to be installing 9 at work soon-- i'm just glad i've only got to do it once, instead of 5 times like we used to!

Top Tip: When you've installed Logic, run Disk Utility (Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility), and perform 'Repair Disk Permissions', i'll help sort out any rogue permissions that might cause issues further down the line :)

Ok thanks for the tip Oli  :D
I'm just waiting for another disc to pop out. It takes its time! I'll have to leave this on all night. I probably won't get it all done until friday at this rate.

Well done Johnny. My brother ( the photographer) keeps droning on about how good macs are and I think he uses Logic too.

Nice one Johnny. My imac is 4 years old and still going strong so I'm sure your in for the long haul now!

You can start to play with cabinet impulses now too, using Space Designer.

Did you get a new external hard drive too? It's better if you do and use that for your recording. Not because of space but the CPU finds it easier to take things off one drive (samples for example) and put them on another drive (your project) rather than trying to do everything on one drive.

Are you sure that that benefit (which does exist - I use a second internal drive for samples and projects) isnt offset by the fact that external drives max out at about 35mb/s transfer rate on USB2 and firewire? You can expect 50 or more out of your installation drive and more still from a second internal.

Yes you should use you internal drives on a project and save all finished files to an external. That's what Paul White and his team recommended at their 'Sound On Sound' lectures at last years LGS.

Ah, yes, backing up to external is just good practice.

Working off an external is highly questionable IMO.
