Anyone got any experience with Framus?

Saw this and the switching looked really interesting - complex, but only wimps are afraid of complexity...

How do you reconcile that with "Real Men Play Telecasters"?

They look like nicely-made guitars, but the Framus body/headstock shapes don't quite work for me.

The Panthera reminds me of the Jackson Swee-Tone the bloke from Lamb Of God plays.  In fact I think he may have used Framus in the past?

i think some of them look pretty cool. the prices have shot up recently, though, so any GAS i had for them has kinda gone.

not sure about LOG, I think you might be right, though.

Not played one, but I'd marry their 335 copy.
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

i like the superstrat (just because i like superstrats), but the one i really like is the hollywood, i think. and the semi-hollow singlecut (tennessee, i think) is nice, too. that's based entirely on cosmetics, of course.

Can't see many on any LDN sites though...

They get consistently awesome reviews in German Gitarre&Bass which leads me to believe that Framus pays the magazine.  :D Of course it could be they are good. The only Framus I've ever played was one from the "early era", pre-Warwick. I liked that one a lot, but it has not much to do with the current models.

I like that guitar alot - seems quite straightforward once you know what everything does.  More importantly, it sounds good too.  I like the Gretsch-meets-Les-Paul type of vibe its got too.

Heard they're awesome, but can's seem to find anyone who stocks them in the UK.

This is gorgeous:

I definitely liked the overdriven tone, plenty of bite and clarity there instead of a flabby distorted mush but I wouldn't be happy with that number of knobs and switches. I like a simple pickup selector and a volume control and nothing else really, I can't even cope with Fender S1 switches.

I'm usually happiest when playing with knobs.

I love the aesthetics of these things, the one posted about look beautiful.

But I don't fancy the trip to Germany just to try one!!!
