A couple of months after buying it, the knackered old SG I bought has just come back from having a new nut fitted and is ready for gigging :D
It's as light as a feather, has that classic open-airy-yet-punchy SG tone, and feels fantastic. I can't wait to gig it next month!
The final spec is:
* 1965 SG that has had both a headstock break and a body/neck joint repair
* All original parts stripped before I got it and replaced with pattern parts
I wasn't happy with the spec of it (and I bought it as a project) so it now has:
* CTS pots, Switchcraft jack, Orange Drop caps, unbranded 3-way selector (all on the guitar when I bought it)
* Throbak PAFs
* Aged TonePros locking ABR-1 bridge
* Aged lightweight RS Guitarworks tailpiece and studs
* Aged double ring Kluson tuners and adapter bushings
* Tusq nut
* Montreux aged scratchplate and pickup rings
* Re-fretted with Stewart Mac-Donald 150 Jumbo frets
* Nickel Schaller straplocks
