This thread did give me a gift idea though

Got dad a citizen eco drive for his birthday. Hope he likes it. I suspect he'll appreciate the fact that it *should* never have to be opened up or have the battery replaced.

Probably a gay toy cheapo watch to some of you folk though, like a cort or shine

It can get a bit sweaty/sticky under the strap, to be honest ...

Is this a new hobby you've not told us about Philly ?

Is that serious or just because of the 'gay toy' bit?

Really I dont know, I just thought that citizen watches were supposed to be pretty good, and it will never have to be charged, and its made from titanium....are they rubbish?

Not at all, they are excellent timepieces. Your dad will be thrilled I'm sure.

Good. Never have to be charged + titanium = dad should like it. I was just worried for a second that citizen were cr@p for a second  I *presume* tonemonkey was joking, and I just know little enough to not spot it @lol:

Ha ha, just the usual gay dad joke.     They're nice watches.  Just aiding along the onset of the filth.

I used to have a titanium Pulsar and I loved it.  Really light (about a quarter of the weight of my current watch).  The only problem that I had was that the titanium pins in the strap kept breaking.

I know a couple of people with Citizen watches and never heard one of them complain about them.  Got a link to the one you've got your dad?
