Wah Wah Pedals

Anyone got any Wah recommendations?

I've got an old Colorsound wah, which is OK but not something that I particularly want in the signal chain.  I've tried a Morely Bad Horsie II, and HATED it.  Currently have an expression pedal manipulating the wah setting on my Eventide Modfactor, but it's not really doing it for me.

Want something vintagy but practical, true or buffered bypass maybe.

Any suggestions?

I got a drop in kit from Area 51 for my cr@ppy sounding dunlop... real nice classic Wah sound. I'm sure they sell complete pedals too.

A friend of mine has an Area 51 wah which is flat out the nicest wah wah pedal I've managed to play though.  I have one of the red Fasel inductor Jim Dunlop Cry Babies with the adjustable sweep, wah centre and what not (535Q) and I think that's pretty good, though not as nice as the Area 51.  I used to have a Budda Budwah which I didn't get along with, the sweep was too narrow for me. YMMV of course.

I've got a Keeley modded cry baby wah. It can do the vintage thing with ease and is fairly tweekable too, not cheap though.

I'd recommend one of the Dunlops. They make a standard one with true bypass and Fasel inductor - that should do the trick.

The BBE Wah is very good and very classic sounding, well made etc and mid priced (ish) My personal choice

The Vox wahs are nice, so are the good old Crybabys (get an older one though, Jen ones are GREAT).

True bypass is easy - if it doesn't have it, £5.00 for a DPDT switch and a quick google search for 'wah true bypass mod' will get you where you need to be.

After owning two CryBabies, A Slash CryBaby and Both Morely Bad Horsies, I currently use the chrome topped Vox Wah, it's just the sweetest and nicest Wah I've ever used and it sounds good for everything. It's not a dead cheesy wah wah sound like some of the more modern wahs and it isnt weak like a vintage wah. Bloody lovely.

The crybaby Classic has TB and a Fasel, I have one going unused if you want to buy it on the cheap? It's a nice wah, I just never use it.

I have a Jim Dunlop Cry Baby classic, a modern one... its not that good.

I use an Ibanez Weeping Demon. I used it to death last night at rehearsals, its a demon!

Bought a Fender FuzzWah recently and it's surprisingly good. I really like the added left/right sweep feature on the pedal for dialling in just the right amount of oldschool fuzz, and at around 80 quid - a bargain- though still not as good as the Colorsound Fuzz/Wah/Swell I had in the 70's  and regret parting with still.

I LOVE wah pedals (I had several, re-sold in some point of time)
Currently: Vox 847 re-issue, Morley Bad Horsie - II and, Roger Mayer's Vision Wah.
Next one: Royal McCoy RMC3
Future: Dunlop Cry Baby (model to decide) and something else. LOL. It's the only pedal, together with boosters, that I like to have several of them available at any time.
