It is merely a useful platform .what will make it indispensable will be whatever apps get developed for itThere are already some interesting dedicated iPad apps coming through
IMO the IPAD is overpriced for what it does... not much really!!!
tbh,I really don't think at all that in 2 years a $600 digital tablet will be necessary to our way of life.

It's meant for people who are using a server for media as part of their home theatre.. as opposed to cable tv cr@p. Then you can control your home theatre with one remote.
